1-2-Year Old Preschool Class: PANDA BEARS

YES, WE ASSIST WITH POTTY TRAINING and we do it with ease. When your child shows verbal and non-verbal cluesthat they are ready to take the plunge, we do our best assisting them in the right direction. Parent participation is required. Until that time comes, all diapers, wipes, powders and creams come from home and we do our best at daily conversation about the importance of using the potty and we make it a positive experience for all.

But caring for toddlers isnt all about diaper changing and potty training.  1-2 year olds are capable of learning, if you teach them.  Through reading, they learn comunication.  Through role modeling, they learn to follow directions.  Through art activities they learn sensory exploration and self awareness.  We teach sign language and spanish in addition to proper english and communication skills!

2-3 Year Old Pre-K Class: HONEY BEARS

Preschoolers are ready to learn and engage in just about any activity you introduce.  Singing and music are your friends when you are trying to reach a preschool aged child.  Building self-esteem is crucial at this age.  Recognizing what your child does RIGHT is like magic and when you spend time redirecting you don't need to discipline as much.  At MPJFK we keep our Preschoolers engaged in academics lessons but use a lot of communication and allow them to make their own decisions that we feel will allow them to fix their own problems by making good choices.  We encourage children to learn through play using gross motor skills as much as fine motor skills throughout the day.   It is at this age we introduce work pages and workbooks ( real school work) and daily classroom responsibilities which build self-esteem.  We feel that when a child has school responsibilities they feel more connected and have better self-esteems because they know they are important to the group.

4-5 year Old Class/School-Age: POLAR BEARS

Our Pre-K children is an excelled group of children who stand out from all of the rest and help set the bar for the others to follow. They have worked hard to get where they are and are rewarded for their accomplishments each day.  They have responsibilities that help the teachers such as passing out food and setting up activities.

The "Polar bears" work in academic workbooks every day to gear up for Kindergarten in the upcoming year.  They lead circle time activities and get to chose special activities and books to read to the rest of the group.

Annual Progress reports are available each year for each group through an annual

Progress Report and Award Ceremony family gathering.
