About Us
My name is Lisa Skinner.
First and foremost, I am a loving mommy and wife.
My second love is teaching.
Since 1980, I have been teaching, directing and managing preschool centers, mostly in San Diego County.
I studied Child Development while attending Western Michigan University, where I majored in Early Childhood Education,with a minor in Creative Arts.
After ample time spent in the corporate world as a Center Director at various childcare centers throughout San Diego county, I found it more rewarding to be home with our child and decided to open my first business, as a family daycare owner and operator.
I reside in Santee with my family, a daughter and my husband of 21 years.
I own and operate the business, which is is located in Santee ( east county).
Santee was established in the late 19th century.
We are one block from the Santee Lakes, off Mast and Carlton Oaks.
We have been licensed since 2001.
We increased to a large license in 2007.
We have a Santee business license.
My daycare also is a learning center. We teach preschool and Pre-K for Kindergarten readiness.
I call my family style home daycare " My Place, Just for Kids".
Whether you are a little kid, a big kid or just a kid at heart, you are welcome at My Place.

My Mission is simple:
To provide a fun and learning environment where kids are excited to come each day.
A place where parents feel comfortable leaving their precious little ones to play and learn, knowing they receive the same care they would provide themselves, if they had the opportunity to stay at home with them each day.
This Mission incorporates fun and enrichment programs in which the kids love to learn and the teachers love to teach.
My Mission includes maintaining a reputation for being a top quality childcare facility; a daycare of which others try to emulate.
I am proud that I have both met and exceeded my Mission.
